Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios have begun filming the God of War series and shared the first image of Kratos and his son, Atreus.
What appears in the God of War TV show image?
The first image released from the upcoming God of War TV series on Prime Video shows Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as Atreus. In the photo, Kratos stands behind Atreus, observing him as he practices archery.

Filming has begun on the live-action TV series based on the popular PlayStation game.
The cast also includes Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Ed Skrein as Baldur, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn as Brok.
The story of the God of War games centers around Kratos and his son, Atreus, as they travel to scatter the ashes of their loved ones, Faye. Throughout their journey, Kratos attempts to guide Atreus in becoming a worthy god, while Atreus tries to help his father rediscover his humanity.
Ronald D. Moore leads the God of War series as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. He’s widely recognized for creating Battlestar Galactica and Outlander. He’s joined by executive producers Maril Davis, Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, Asad Qizilbash, Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hulst, Roy Lee, and Brad Van Arragon. Joe Menosky, Marc Bernardin, Tania Lotia, and Ben McGinnis serve as co-executive producers.
Frederick E.O. Toye, who previously won an Emmy for directing the FX series Shōgun, will be directing the first two episodes of the God of War television show.
Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios are working together to create the ‘God of War’ series, alongside PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions. The show has been ordered for two seasons.
God of War does not have a release date. It will eventually stream on Prime Video.
