Glen Powell’s Mom Had To Learn To ‘Moan’ For Her Latest Cameo (And I Could Not Believe His Dad’s Joke About It!)

Glen Powell is quickly becoming a huge star, and he’s also incredibly sweet! He loves including his parents in his movies and shows. Recently, his mom had a hilarious cameo in Chad Powers where she had to learn how to ‘moan’ – it’s a funny story that involves his dad, too!

In 2025, the TV show Chad Powers premiered. Texas Monthly reported that Glen Sr. plays an assistant coach, which is similar to his previous job as an executive coach. His mother, Cyndy, has a smaller role as a ‘moaning woman’ – a patient in the emergency room next to Russ Holliday (who is also Chad Powers). Glen Sr. playfully complimented his wife’s performance of this small part, and the story is hilarious!

I come out in the morning after her practicing, and all my guy neighbors are going, ‘Attaboy!’

That was impressive! It takes skill to convincingly moan on camera, and Cyndy Powell deserves credit for that. Interestingly, she had no prior experience, so her daughter, a singer, coached her for just ten minutes each day. Judging by Glen Sr.’s comment, the coaching clearly worked!

The actor recently had his parents appear in one of his projects, which is a sweet example of how much he values family. He consistently shows his support, whether it’s through playful moments like dressing up as Buddy the Elf with the Powell family or being there for his sister’s wedding, and his family returns that support, even in his work. It’s heartwarming to see him flip the script, as we usually see children supporting their parents, not the other way around.

The popular romantic comedy Anyone But You featured a cameo from the lead actor’s parents, who he jokingly called a dedicated actor for convincingly playing a sleeping passenger. They previously appeared together in Twisters, during the rodeo scene. The family has also made brief appearances in The Expendables 3, Everybody Wants Some!!, and Hidden Figures. These cameos highlight the incredible support the actor receives from his parents – a dream for any aspiring performer.

Glen Powell’s parents are known for their playful antics, and they recently brought their humor to his movie premieres. They playfully teased him on the red carpet for Hit Man with signs referencing the movie Mean Girls. They continued their support for Twisters by holding signs with funny, personal statements like, “I changed Glen Powell’s diapers.” Although it’s unusual to have parents actively promote your films, Powell says he appreciates their support and doesn’t plan on stopping them anytime soon.

It’s amusing to see actors react to this stage of making a movie, but when you have loved ones, everyone naturally wants to get involved.

As a huge movie fan, I always love seeing family play a role in a character’s story. And if that family is as fun-loving as the Powells seem to be, it must be amazing when they’re cheering him on – even if they’re also holding up signs designed to embarrass him a little! It just feels so real and heartwarming.

I was so charmed by Glen Powell’s mom‘s willingness to really go all-in for his Chad Powers role – learning to ‘moan’ on cue showed just how supportive she is! Honestly, the whole Powell family always seems ready to enthusiastically participate in Glen’s projects. It makes you wonder if the Academy should create a special award just for amazing family cameos! You absolutely have to check out the Powells in Chad Powers – it’s streaming on Hulu and it’s hilarious.
