A new clip from season 2, episode 7 of “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” shows how the conflict between Mary and Audrey has developed. The show, currently the most popular comedy on television for the 2025-2026 season, is back after a short break for Thanksgiving. Unlike its first season, the show is skipping Thanksgiving this year and will instead focus on a Christmas episode.

Season 2 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has been packed with events! Connor recently experienced a breakup, Georgie met Mandy’s boss (who turned out to be her ex), and Jim adjusted to life after retirement. We’ve also seen brief appearances from Mary and Missy, and this week, Mary is set to return with a bigger role.

A new clip from season 2, episode 7 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage shows Zoe Perry returning as Mary. In the episode, titled “A Bus Bench and Faith out the Wazoo,” Georgie asks his mother for help with his tire shop’s finances, but she declines. He then suggests Audrey could potentially assist. Mary and Audrey didn’t get along from the start, and their conflict began when their children, Georgie and Mandy, became a couple and their families met. Their ongoing rivalry, even over who was the better grandmother to Ceecee, became a recurring theme throughout Young Sheldon. While George’s sudden death briefly paused their fighting, Mary and Audrey still dislike each other in the series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

Interestingly, the current conflict between Georgie and Mandy might actually be a good thing for the show. Georgie going to his mom for help allows Mary to appear more often, even with the story focusing less on Georgie and Mandy’s marriage. This also gives viewers a broader storyline beyond just the ups and downs of their relationship. It even helps explain why Georgie and his mom didn’t have a strong relationship in Young Sheldon, since Mary was always primarily focused on Sheldon.

It looks like Mary and Audrey’s conflict will continue for a while. Their very different personalities cause them to constantly try and outdo each other, and no one seems able to help them truly reconcile – they can only manage to be polite. While their fighting creates problems for Georgie and Mandy, it also adds a funny element to the show, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
