I’m really glad to see Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage doing well! It shows there’s still a lot of love for the Cooper family, even without Jim Parsons as Sheldon. But let’s be real, it’s still connected to Young Sheldon, so it feels like a continuation of that show.

The show should definitely bring Sheldon back for a guest appearance, particularly because his future connection with Georgie is already established by what we know from the original series. In the final season of The Big Bang Theory, specifically the last episode, Sheldon reconnects with his brother and they resolve a long-standing conflict that had kept them apart for years.

The last time we saw them together on Young Sheldon, Georgie and Mandy were getting along well. That means the new show, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, will likely introduce some kind of conflict between them. While Sheldon’s appearance on the spinoff has been hinted at, he didn’t show up for the Thanksgiving episode in season one, and the show didn’t include a Christmas special either.

It’s strange that a teenager would miss Christmas, and particularly noticeable that Sheldon wasn’t present at all during the first season of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. The holiday season also naturally creates conflict for the show, as both Georgie and Mandy’s families will probably want to host Christmas celebrations.

As a big fan of the show, I always figured Mary would really want to make the holidays super religious, which could definitely clash with Mandy and her family’s views. Considering Missy’s rebellious phase we saw in season 2 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, things are already primed for drama, even before you throw in the question of whether Sheldon will be there. It just feels like a recipe for a stressful holiday!

With so much family drama already happening, the Christmas episode of season 2 might not even need to include Sheldon. Georgie previously mentioned his brother was often absent after their father passed away, and this episode could highlight that existing dynamic.

While a spin-off focusing on Georgie and Mandy would work fine without Sheldon, it would feel unnecessarily sad to show a 13-year-old Sheldon completely alone in his dorm room on Christmas. It’s a bit too bleak a scenario.

Sheldon isn’t very social, but he’s always been incredibly close to his mother and twin sister, Missy, in both The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. Given how important family is to him, and how young he is, it doesn’t seem right for him to spend Christmas by himself.
