The popular trilogy featuring George Clooney is now available to watch for free online. While Clooney recently starred in a new film, his earlier trilogy remains a hit with viewers.
You can now stream all three Ocean’s movies – Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, and Ocean’s Thirteen – on Pluto TV for free. That’s right, you can enjoy the whole trilogy without paying for another streaming service!
Directed by Steven Soderbergh and written by Ted Griffin (based on the 1960 film of the same name), the movie follows a professional thief who, after getting out of prison, plans an ambitious robbery of three major Las Vegas casinos. He assembles a skilled and extensive team, and together they pull off one of the most memorable heists ever shown on film.
When Ocean’s Eleven came out, it was a huge success, earning over $450.7 million worldwide on an $85 million budget. Critics loved it too – Rotten Tomatoes currently gives it an 83% ‘Certified Fresh’ rating based on 197 reviews.
After the popular movie Ocean’s Eleven, a second film, Ocean’s Twelve, came out in 2004. Although it wasn’t as well-received as the original, it still made money, which led to Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007. This third installment was seen as a return to the quality of the first movie.
Released in 2018, Ocean’s 8 offered a fresh take on the familiar heist formula. The film starred Sandra Bullock as Deborah Ocean, Danny Ocean’s sister and a skilled thief, who gathers her own team for a daring, high-stakes robbery. Although Ocean’s 8 was financially successful, earning over $297 million on a $70 million budget, it received a less enthusiastic response from critics compared to the original Ocean’s movies.
What’s Next for the Ocean’s Eleven Franchise in Film?
Reports surfaced in January that Warner Bros. was in discussions with George Clooney about a potential new Ocean’s movie. These conversations may have also included his production company, Smokehouse Productions, though that wasn’t confirmed. If made, it’s expected Clooney would reprise his role as Danny Ocean.
At the time, it was announced that Casey Affleck and Matt Damon would reprise their roles as Virgil Malloy and Linus Caldwell. Despite years of discussion about a new Ocean’s movie, several obstacles, including the loss of Bernie Mac in 2008, have prevented Ocean’s Fourteen from moving beyond the planning stages.
A prequel film is also being developed, with Margot Robbie in the lead role. The latest news, from October, revealed a change in cast, with replacing Ryan Gosling.
You can now watch all three Ocean’s movies – Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, and Ocean’s Thirteen – on Pluto TV without a subscription.
