Gen V Season 2 Just Introduced 1 Superhero Who Can Defeat Homelander

The season finale of Gen V hints that a specific super-powered individual could be used to stop Homelander. Gen V, a spin-off of The Boys, is set at Godolkin University, a college for young superheroes learning to control their abilities. The two shows on Prime Video have increasingly connected, and season two of Gen V may have given the characters in The Boys a solution to the ongoing threat of Homelander.

In Season 1 of Gen V, Jessica Clements played a minor character named Harper. However, in Season 2, Harper took on a much bigger role and her powers evolved. While she’s always been known for her tail, Season 2 introduced the ability to temporarily copy the powers of other super-powered individuals.

In Season 2 of Gen V, Harper showed she was against Homelander and identified with Starlighter. This led her to team up more closely with Emma and her friends, helping them with their goals. The season ended with Harper joining other super-powered students to stop Thomas Godolkin from eliminating those he deemed unworthy, after the surprising truth about Cipher was revealed.

Watching Harper step up in the fight against Godolkin was incredible! Once the team managed to weaken him, she was able to copy his powers, which was exactly what we needed. It became clear throughout the finale that Godolkin was pushing himself to become strong enough to control Marie, and Harper proving she could mimic those abilities? That shows she can access the powers of even the strongest Supes out there – and honestly, it makes me think she could even copy Homelander if she had to. It’s a really exciting thought!

Harper can quickly and easily copy the powers of other super-powered individuals simply by touching them. During the fight with Godolkin, she was able to instantly use his mind control abilities to help the other students escape. Even though she can only use these copied powers for a short time – around a minute – that can be crucial when fighting a powerful enemy like Homelander.

The second season of Gen V premiered on September 17, 2025, and concluded on October 22. The show features Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, and Hamish Linklater/Ethan Slater, who plays the role of Godolkin.

Does Harper Stand a Chance Against Homelander?

Harper’s talent for imitation was key to defeating Godolkin, and it’s clear she could be used to challenge Homelander too. Throughout the series, The Boys have been looking for a powerful enough supe to fight Homelander, and they even tried bringing in Soldier Boy, Vought’s original hero, hoping he could win.

Homelander has always outsmarted the Boys, but the show Gen V suggests there may be new heroes who can help defeat him. Marie, as one of only two “Odessa babies” (along with Homelander), is a strong potential opponent. Harper’s unique ability also offers a possible advantage – she can briefly use Homelander’s powers against him, if they can maximize her limited 60-second window.

The finale of Gen V showed Marie and her friends joining Starlight and A-Train’s fight against Homelander as they prepare for Season 5 of The Boys. To have the best chance of defeating him, they might need to use a similar plan to the one they used against Godolkin, and that will likely involve Harper.
