Zack Snyder recently shared a behind-the-scenes video showing a memorable scene from the Wonder Woman movie. The clip features Gal Gadot performing one of the character’s iconic moves in slow motion.
Zack Snyder shares Gal Gadot’s first Wonder Woman gauntlet smash
Zack Snyder posted a video from the making of Batman v Superman, revealing Gal Gadot practicing Wonder Woman’s iconic gauntlet move for the very first time.
I was so excited to see Zack Snyder post a quick clip of him and Gal Gadot practicing the Gauntlet Smash! He said it was filmed on his phone and just pure fun and power, and it totally felt that way. He even used the Wonder Woman theme music by Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL – seriously, chills! It was posted just yesterday and already has over 64,000 likes and 2,000 comments – everyone’s loving it as much as I am!
The scene pays homage to Wonder Woman’s famous gauntlet defense, a move she first used in the 2016 film Batman v Superman, which was her first live-action movie appearance with Batman and Superman. While the film earned $874.4 million worldwide, critics generally didn’t like it, giving it a 28% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Gal Gadot reprised her role as Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) in several DC Universe films, including Wonder Woman (2017), Justice League (2017), Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021), Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023), and The Flash (2023).
In 2023, Gal Gadot said she’d been told by James Gunn and Peter Safran she would return as Wonder Woman, but DC Studios later said that wasn’t true. Shortly after a company reorganization, DC Studios also cancelled plans for a third Wonder Woman movie directed by Patty Jenkins.
Ana Nogueira, the writer behind the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic, is now working on a new Wonder Woman project for DC Studios. Currently, no actors have been chosen for the new film, and Wonder Woman won’t appear in the upcoming Superman: Legacy or Man of Tomorrow movies.
