The popular new series from Bones studio is quickly approaching the end of its first season, with a major showdown between the Cleaners and the Raiders to protect Rudo. The Raiders have been hunting Rudo ever since they discovered he’s a Spherite, and their leader, Zodyl, recently explained his motives – a deeply rooted and extreme ambition that he refuses to abandon.
Zodyl swiftly separated Rudo from his allies, but every person pulled into Cthoni Andor’s portal was immediately confronted by a Raider intent on sacrificing them to a Trash Beast. Though only half the battles have started, fans of Gachiakuta are already extremely worried. Zanka is struggling badly, and Riyo is rapidly becoming exhausted. With so much on the line and the end of Gachiakuta Season 1 nearing, the numerous ominous signs in the latest episodes are impossible to overlook.
Does Zanka Die in Gachiakuta?
The biggest fight between the Cleaners and Raiders involves Zanka Nijiku and Jabber Wonger, and it’s not going Zanka’s way. Zanka likely would have won against Jabber if Jabber hadn’t suddenly become much more powerful. It turns out Jabber has been secretly holding back his full strength since his first appearance. During their recent battle, he finally revealed his complete, ultimate form, Mankira.
The title of Gachiakuta Episode 16, “Mediocrity vs. Natural Talent,” led many viewers to believe Zanka would defeat Jabber’s powerful weapon, proving that dedication can triumph over innate ability. This expectation was quickly dashed when Zanka was wounded by one of Jabber’s poisoned blades. The injury proved severe, ultimately leading to Zanka’s rapid decline and defeat.
Gachiakuta tricked the fans once more by revealing details about Zanka’s past and his connection to the Hell Guard. This story seemed to awaken Zanka from the effects of the toxin, giving him the strength to fight Jabber. However, it was all a false hope – Zanka remained paralyzed and helpless against Jabber. Luckily, a Cleaner arrived just in time with weapons ready, saving Zanka from certain defeat.
Riyo’s Gun Became a Vital Instrument in Saving Zanka
The fight between Riyo and Noerde Hew Amozo was arguably the second most exciting battle of the Gachiakuta Trash Storm Arc, following the highly anticipated rematch between Jabber and Zanka – though the latter was much more one-sided in favor of the Cleaners. In Gachiakuta Episode 18, Riyo defeated Noerde through hand-to-hand combat, and then finished her off with a gun – a weapon Riyo reveals she kept from her previous career as an assassin.
Riyo found Zanka just as Jabber was about to capture him, and she intervened, shooting Jabber in the leg and leaving him wounded as they both escaped. While they’re safe for now, it’s not a clear victory. Both Riyo and Zanka are exhausted from fighting, and Zanka is seriously injured.
Despite being hurt, Jabber is incredibly persistent. He actually fights harder when he’s in pain. There’s a real danger he’ll rally and attack Riyo and Zanka, who are already exhausted and struggling. For Jabber, it would be a perfect opportunity – he’s driven by Zodyl’s commands and the thought of his Trash Beasts destroying his enemies.
Gachiakuta Isn’t Afraid to Kill Off Anyone — Even the Youngest Characters

Dear Santa and Bro Santa, the youngest Cleaner and leader of Team Child, found themselves facing off against Bundus Begalkeit after the Raiders scattered the Cleaners. Though Bundus seemed relaxed at first, he quickly became a threat. After asking a series of surprisingly normal questions about Corvus Arkha, the leader of the Cleaners, Bundus revealed that the Raiders can create dangerous creatures called Trash Beasts, and their plan is to use the Cleaners as food for them.
Guita Hebby Fantasia, easily spotted by her dinosaur onesie and also on Team Child, found herself wandering alone. She hasn’t faced any opponents yet, but in episode 17 of Gachiakuta, she stumbled upon a disturbing scene. While looking for her teammates in the confusing network of underground caves, Fantasia discovered a huge, glowing red object covered in weapons – each handle disturbingly decorated with severed hands.
The story hasn’t focused much on Team Child and its members, but that doesn’t guarantee their safety. Following Regto’s unexpected death and the difficult revelations about Amo’s history, it’s likely Gachiakuta will raise the stakes by killing off a child or a parental figure as part of the Raiders’ plans. Bro and Dear both received important information, but only one of them needs to survive to share it with the other Cleaners. While Fantasia isn’t currently facing a direct threat, she’s now in the presence of the most dangerous Raider, who doesn’t seem likely to show mercy to a child if it interferes with his objectives.
Even Gachiakuta’s Strongest Characters Still Need Plot Armor

Currently, Rudo and Enjin appear to be the only characters in Gachiakuta who are safe from dying, and that’s likely because the story needs them to survive. This doesn’t mean they’re weak; Enjin is a strong and capable fighter, and he’s also a key character and Rudo’s mentor. In many action anime, mentors don’t die until their students are ready to stand on their own, and Rudo still heavily relies on Enjin’s guidance. Additionally, Enjin’s current opponent, Fu Orostor, doesn’t seem to be a significant threat, even if he’s holding back some power.
The fight between Rudo and Zodyl, made even harder by the danger of Cthoni, is arguably the most challenging of the Trash Storm Arc. However, Rudo is the central figure, and his story, created by Gachiakuta, is driven by his volatile mix of potential and fury. He’s destined to overcome this challenge, whether through help from an ally or the force of his own rage. Zodyl’s offering of Amo’s boots to the red mass Fantasia discovered will likely push Rudo into another explosive outburst, fueled by the thought of Amo being harmed and losing something precious.
Enjin and Rudo seem to be in the least danger, but the other Cleaners are facing serious threats. Bro and Dear Santa are teaming up, but their opponent has much more fighting experience. Fantasia could soon be defeated by Zodyl, and Riyo and Zanka might have to battle a powerful, enraged Jabber. Everyone is worried about Amo, ever since Zodyl gave her Watchman Boots to Rudo. As the season of Gachiakuta comes to an end, viewers are bracing themselves for a possible death that could make Rudo even more furious.
