Be warned, this contains spoilers for the fall finale of The Neighborhood, titled “Welcome to Secrets and Santa.” The episode will be available to stream the day after it airs with a Paramount+ subscription.
I’m a huge fan of The Neighborhood, so I was a little sad watching what’s been announced as the show’s last Christmas episode – the fall finale of its eighth season. It was a really sweet episode, ending on a high note with someone about to get engaged! But there’s even more exciting news. Cedric the Entertainer shared a sneak peek on social media about an episode planned for 2026, and he did it alongside his friend, Anthony Anderson, who’s going to be a guest star. Oh, and there was a massive cake involved, which just made everything even better!
As “Welcome to Secrets and Santa” ended, Calvin and Tina had patched things up after a disagreement about their anniversary, Marty was planning to propose to Courtney, Malcolm and Mercedes were hitting it off, Dave confessed something to his wife, and Gemma realized she was in trouble trying to keep a secret of her own.
It’s been over two months since new episodes aired, but a recent Instagram post from Cedric the Entertainer has given fans something to look forward to. Check it out!

Hey Anthony Anderson! Cedric the Entertainer shared that he’s been hoping to get you on The Neighborhood for some time, and everything finally lined up for the show’s 150th episode. You were on black-ish back in 2018, appearing in a couple of episodes, so it’s great to have you join the CBS comedy before it ends next year. Since “Secrets and Santa” was episode 143, fans will have to wait six more episodes in 2026 to see you in episode #150.
With Anthony Anderson joining the set for its 150th episode, The Neighborhood is ending a fantastic year of guest appearances. It wasn’t just Holly Robinson Peete showing up as Calvin’s former partner in the Christmas episode, either. Earlier in the season, Tracy Morgan appeared in his second episode before going on to star in his own spinoff, Crutch, which you can stream on Paramount+. Morgan, known for 30 Rock, even shared how filming two sitcoms simultaneously made him feel like “Iron Man.”
It makes sense that Cedric the Entertainer would like to have Anthony Anderson appear on The Neighborhood before the show ends. It’s not just because they both worked on black-ish – they’re also business partners! The two comedians co-founded AC Barbecue, a brand dedicated to all things grilling, offering tools, seasonings, and a community for barbecue lovers. What started as specialty seasonings has grown into a full-fledged brand with cooking schools and restaurants. While they recently celebrated The Neighborhood‘s 150th episode with cake, these actors are just as comfortable around a grill!
Cedric the Entertainer didn’t share many specifics, so fans will likely have to wait for details about the show’s 150th episode. The Neighborhood won’t be back on CBS until Monday, February 23rd, and the special episode will probably air several weeks after that. Until then, you can rewatch previous seasons on Paramount+ or check out the Crutch spinoff with Tracy Morgan. With the show ending, The Neighborhood is running low on new episodes, but Beth Behrs has been optimistic about the way the comedy is wrapping up.
