Players familiar with the game noticed that Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 presents Michael Afton as a distinct character. Although this adds an unexpected element to the story, it significantly deviates from the original ideas that inspired the game.

Throughout the Five Nights at Freddy’s games, players eventually discover that Michael Afton and Mike Schmidt are the same character.
