Movie studios are making more and more biopics about musicians. We’ve seen films about Elvis Presley, Queen, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springsteen in recent years, and a Beatles movie is in the works. Before that comes out, a new film called “Michael,” about the life of Michael Jackson, is set to be released.
Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s nephew and son of Jermaine Jackson, will play the lead role in the upcoming film, “Michael.” The movie will chronicle Michael’s life, starting with his early days with The Jackson 5 and following his incredible success as a solo artist in the 1980s. The cast also includes Miles Teller, Colman Domingo, and Nia Long, and Antoine Fuqua is directing. Given the mixed track record of music biopics, it’s natural to wonder what to expect from this film – and a recently released teaser offers a first look.
The movie “Michael” will be released in theaters on April 24, 2026. Watch the trailer below and tell me if you plan to see it!
