The show is gaining popularity on streaming services during its fourth season. This increase in viewers comes after some significant changes to the creative team working on the CBS hit.
According to FlixPatrol, the TV show Fire Country has become a hit on Paramount+, reaching the Top 10 and moving another show down to the No. 9 spot. It’s even more popular in some other countries, currently ranking at No. 2 in Australia and No. 3 in France. New episodes become available on Paramount+ the day after they first air on CBS on Friday nights, and viewers can also watch them live. So far this season, Fire Country is averaging around 8.1 million viewers per episode across all platforms.
Fire Country Scored an Early Renewal for Season 5
The show Fire Country is heading in a new direction. After four seasons, Tia Napolitano stepped down as showrunner, and Eric Guggenheim (known for Magnum P.I. and Hawaii Five-O) is taking over for Season 5. He’ll also be an executive producer, joining Max Thieriot, Joan Rater, Tony Phelan, Bill Purple, Jerry Bruckheimer, and KristieAnne Reed in that role.
I’ve been following the success of Fire Country, and it’s clear Tia played a huge role in making it not just a hit, but the launchpad for what CBS is building into a whole franchise. As the network’s Amy Reisenbach and David Stapf recently shared, they’re incredibly thankful for her dedication and hard work, and are excited to keep working with her on future shows. It’s a testament to her talent that she’s helped create something with this much potential.
Napolitano expressed immense pride in the four seasons of Fire Country, thanking the cast, crew, writers, producers, fans, and CBS/CBS Studios for their support. She described the experience as a wonderful journey.
Max Thieriot Leads the Cast as Bode
Created by Thieriot, Rater, and Phelan, the TV show Fire Country first aired on CBS in 2022. Thieriot stars as Bode, an inmate who becomes a volunteer firefighter with Cal Fire – the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection – in exchange for a reduced prison sentence. He’s sent to work in his hometown of Edgewater, California, battling fires alongside other inmates, old friends, and experienced firefighters.
The show also stars Kevin Alejandro as Manny Perez, Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford, Stephanie Arcila as Gabriela Perez, Jules Latimer as Eve Edwards, and Diane Farr as Sharon Leone. Morena Baccarin joined the cast as Sheriff Mickey Fox, and her character is expected to headline a future spinoff series. There’s also talk that Jared Padalecki, who made a guest appearance, might get his own spinoff related to Fire Country.
Fire Country is streaming on Paramount+.
