FBI Shocker: Beloved Star’s Future Unknown, But A New Face Is Joining!

The FBI series is returning to CBS for its eighth season in the autumn of 2025, marking the sole crime-fighting franchise left following the cancellations of FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted. Since Tom Ellis’ CIA show has been postponed until midseason, there won’t be any action-packed crime shows airing alongside FBI as was customary for many years. The season finale ended on a nail-biting cliffhanger with Isobel (played by Alana De La Garza) collapsing, leaving fans wondering if she will appear in Season 8.

It seems that the cast changes this fall are inevitable, regardless of what happens to Isobel. The news, however, is not what was anticipated, as it appears that Alana De La Garza may not return to her role.

Emily Alabi Is Out

In Season 7, Scola’s (John Boyd) quest to find a replacement for Tiff (Katherine Renee Kane) took up much of the storyline, only for the potential new team member to be dropped as a regular before her introduction. However, in FBI, they appeared to have found the perfect match with Emily Alabi’s debut as Agent Dani Rhodes from Magnum P.I. I instantly warmed to her, and she didn’t hesitate to act unconventionally alongside Scola, Maggie (Missy Peregrym), OA (Zeeko Zaki), Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) and the rest of the team in the spring finale.

It appears that Deadline has reported that during the summer break leading up to Season 8, Alabi won’t be promoted to series regular as previously anticipated for the upcoming episodes. Instead, her return in the fall will serve to conclude Dani’s story, much like how FBI brought back Katherine Renee Kane for a farewell performance in their Season 7 premiere. As of now, there are no details about Alabi’s departure, and the actress has not yet commented on this news.

Although I’m disappointed to see Dani go since she appeared to be an excellent match for Scola as a partner, I can’t help but feel excited about the new FBI agent joining the cast. An experienced actress from the Law & Order: SVU franchise within Dick Wolf’s extensive television empire is joining us. Given that we had to part ways with Emily Alabi, this newcomer could prove to be another solid addition.

Law & Order: SVU’s Juliana Aidén Martinez Is In

Last year, “Law & Order: SVU” introduced Juliana Aidén Martinez as a series regular for Season 26, playing Detective Silva. However, her time on the show was brief, and it was announced, together with Octavio Pisano’s departure as Detective Velasco, prior to the finale in May. Consequently, Season 26 concluded without providing an explanation for Silva’s exit. This autumn, Season 27 will continue without the presence of these two detectives.

Martinez will continue to be part of the Dick Wolf TV universe, but viewers might not recognize her as Silva anymore. As reported by TVLine, she’ll be introducing a new character on FBI. Previously, actors like Jeremy Sisto and Alana De La Garza, who were once on Law & Order, have taken on different roles within the same small screen world on FBI, just like Jesse Lee Soffer did when he transitioned from Chicago P.D. to FBI: International.

It’s been confirmed that there will be changes in the cast for Season 8 of FBI, although it remains unclear if Alana De La Garza will return as Isobel Castille. I’m hoping she simply took a break and is recovering during the summer hiatus, preparing to rejoin the action when Season 8 starts in the fall.
