The Fantastic Four: First Steps is looking to have a very strong opening weekend at the box office.
This weekend, Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, helmed by director Matt Shakman, hits the big screen at last! The film features Pedro Pascal portraying Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach stepping into the role of Ben Grimm/The Thing.
How much is Fantastic Four expected to make at the box office?
Based on reports by Deadline, it’s projected that The Fantastic Four: First Steps will potentially earn between $190 million and $210 million globally during its initial weekend. Approximately $100 million to $110 million of this revenue could originate from the United States and Canada.
In a similar vein to the success of James Gunn’s Superman film, the initial global box office earnings for that DC Universe movie amounted to $220 million, with $125 million being generated from North America (United States and Canada) alone.
As a dedicated cinephile, I’d confidently predict that the opening weekend earnings of the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, First Steps, will surpass the total box office collection of the Josh Trank film during its entire run. The previous attempt, released in August 2015, featured Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell, but it managed to gather just about $167.9 million in ticket sales.
In a 1960s-inspired, futuristic setting with a retro flair, Marvel Studios’ movie “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” presents Marvel’s original superhero family. This consists of Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). They confront their toughest predicament yet, juggling their responsibilities as superheroes with the ties of their family. As they fight to protect Earth from a voracious space deity named Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his mysterious ally, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner), the situation becomes even more personal when Galactus threatens not only the planet but everyone on it.
