Fantastic Four Rumor Teases Ted Lasso Actor’s Role in First Steps

A fresh report may have unveiled that Sarah Niles, famously known for her role in Ted Lasso, could be part of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, providing insights into one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s reboot’s original supporting characters. Latest leaks indicate how Niles is likely to play a significant role in Marvel’s upcoming origin tale, which takes place in a 1960s-inspired world blending retro and futuristic elements.

Sarah Niles’ role in The Fantastic Four: First Steps possibly revealed

On X (previously known as Twitter), user Scooper @MyTimeToShineHello posted that Lynne Nichols holds the position of chief of staff at the Future Foundation, making a brief appearance in an initial role within The Fantastic Four.

Niles gained recognition through her roles in Ted Lasso and F1: The Movie. Her character, Lynne Nichols, isn’t found in Marvel Comics; instead, she was uniquely developed for this reboot. Despite having a modest amount of screen time, reports suggest that her character contributes to the Future Foundation at the start of the movie.

In addition to the cast, Natasha Lyonne takes on the role of Rachel Rozman, a teacher from Yancy Street who develops a bond with Ben Grimm (or The Thing). Previously, Lyonne lent her voice to Howard the Duck and Darcy Lewis’ daughter in What If…? Season 3. Contrary to speculation, she is not Alicia Masters.

Matt Shakman, the director, mentioned to Variety that numerous aspects were removed from the final product. “Many items were unfortunately left out during the editing process,” Shakman expressed. He elaborated on the challenge of harmonizing the origin story, villains, fresh characters, and world-creation elements within a single film.

As a passionate cinephile, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of disappointment when John Malkovich, who brought Red Ghost to life, didn’t make it into the final version of the film. Director Shakman shared my sentiments, stating, “It was truly disheartening not to have [Malkovich]… because he’s one of those actors I admire deeply.” Although Malkovich graced the first trailer, it remains unclear whether his scenes will be released independently.

In a 1960s blend of the past and future, the film “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” features Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. This movie hits theaters on July 25, 2025.
