Euphoria’s Future Beyond Season 3 Addressed By HBO Boss Despite Reports Of The Show’s End

HBO has spoken about the future of Euphoria after its third season, acknowledging the possibility that the show might end there. Created by Sam Levinson and first airing in 2019, Euphoria quickly became a popular and often-discussed HBO series, focusing on the lives of teenagers dealing with difficult issues like addiction, self-discovery, love, and past trauma.

The hit show Euphoria, starring Zendaya as Rue, also features Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Sydney Sweeney. It’s known for its daring stories and unique look. Season 3 of Euphoria is scheduled to premiere in April 2026, and it will be set some time in the future.

HBO chief Casey Bloys addressed rumors about whether season 3 will be the last for the popular teen drama in a recent interview with Deadline. He explained that creator Sam Levinson is currently focused on completing season 3, and discussions about the show’s future won’t happen until after it airs. You can find Bloys’ complete statement below.

Sam is currently wrapping up the third season, and he’s developed a fantastic way to advance the storylines and characters by five years – it’s really promising. We’re starting to review early cuts, and they look great. We’ll discuss his plans for the future soon, but right now, his priority is finishing and releasing season three.

Season 3 of Euphoria jumps forward five years, showing how much the characters have changed. We find Rue working at a fast-food restaurant called Smoke Shack when Laurie, a drug dealer she owes money to, arrives to collect.

Nate and Cassie are engaged and settled in the suburbs, but Cassie is becoming increasingly focused on social media and what others think of her, and seems to be making content online. Jules is studying art in New York and is also reportedly supported financially by someone. Maddy has relocated to Hollywood, where she’s working at a talent agency and pursuing other jobs on the side, and Lexi is working as an assistant to a television showrunner.

Rumors circulated in the media that season 3 might be the last, partly because of the show’s leap forward in time, and also because the actors were becoming increasingly busy with other projects. Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney have all taken on significant roles in films and TV shows; notably, Jacob Elordi even received an Oscar nomination for his work in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.

Okay, so everyone’s talking about Euphoria season 3, and honestly, it’s probably going to be the last one. With Zendaya and the rest of the cast being in such high demand, juggling schedules is a nightmare. But creatively, it also feels right. The show started with these characters in high school, and let’s be real, people grow apart. It’s getting harder and harder to justify keeping them all connected and continuing their stories in a believable way, so wrapping things up now feels like the smart move.

Fans can expect season 3 of Euphoria to be released this spring. While a fourth season isn’t confirmed, it’s possible – it will likely depend on how the story wraps up and if the creator, Sam Levinson, feels there are more stories to explore.

Euphoria season 3 premieres April 12, 2026, on HBO and HBO Max.
