Emilia Clarke Romantic Comedy Next Life Image Revealed

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, has been spotted in the first images from her upcoming romantic comedy, Next Life, alongside Edgar Ramírez. Since Game of Thrones ended, Clarke has taken on a variety of projects, including voicing the character Pippa in the 2025 animated film The Twits and playing a significant role as G’iah in the series Secret Invasion.

Deadline just shared the first picture from the upcoming romantic comedy, Next Life. The photo shows stars Clarke and Ramírez sitting together on a train. Clarke plays Ivy, a woman who imagines what her life could be like in different universes with both Diego (played by Ramírez) and Noah (played by Jack Farthing). You can see the first look image below.

In the novel Next Life, the different worlds Ivy explores show her what her life could be like if she made different choices. In one of these worlds, she’s with Diego, who always encourages and supports her goals. In another, she reconnects with Noah, a former love, and they rediscover their strong connection.

The movie’s release date hasn’t been announced yet. Its production company, Rocket Science, is showing it to potential buyers before the American Film Market next week. Rocket Science CEO Thorsten Schumacher calls the film a feel-good story about pursuing your dreams, highlighting its London location, strong musical elements, and a standout performance from the lead actor.

Although a release date hasn’t been announced yet, the director’s comments suggest Emilia Clarke will have a leading role in the new romantic comedy, continuing her work after Game of Thrones. This film will also mark the acting debut of Femi Koleoso, who leads the acclaimed British jazz group Ezra Collective. The music for the film was composed by Dan Romer, an Oscar nominee.

Clarke has several exciting projects on the horizon. In addition to Next Life, she’ll be appearing in the Prime Video crime drama Criminal alongside Charlie Hunnam, and will star as the lead in the period spy thriller Ponies for Peacock. These are just a few of the big things she has planned.

The film is particularly interesting because of its clever use of time and humor. This initial preview of Next Life gives a sense of how Ivy’s story will unfold, while still keeping the movie’s overall plot a secret. As the filmmakers look for a distributor, we’ll likely learn more about what the future holds for the film.
