They’re known for enforcing rules, like having policies about children attending mature films and asking patrons to silence their phones. Alamo Drafthouse has always been against phone use, making it clear that anyone disturbing other moviegoers would be asked to leave. They’ve even made several funny public service announcements about it, and many of those videos have become very popular online.

If you know Alamo Drafthouse, you probably know they don’t allow phones in the theater. That’s why their new plan to use an app for ordering is so surprising – it’ll actually require customers to use their phones, reversing their long-held policy.
