Starting July 30th, you’ll be able to watch Dog Man on Peacock, but it will only be available through a subscription to the streaming service.
Why Dog Man Was Such a Massive Hit in 2025
This movie is based on the popular Dog Man graphic novel series by Dav Pilkey, and is a spin-off of Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. It features the voice of Rob Delaney as Dog Man, a unique police officer created when a Golden Retriever’s head was surgically attached to the body of Officer Knight after a dangerous explosion. The explosion was caused by Petey, an orange cat who serves as the villain.
Throughout the movie, Petey—voiced by Pete Davidson—tries to beat Dog Man. His plan includes making a tiny clone called Li’l Petey (played by Lucas Hopkins Calderon), who Dog Man eventually adopts, and accidentally bringing back the bad guy Flippy the Fish (with Ricky Gervais providing the voice).
The animated movie Dog Man boasts a talented cast including Lil Rel Howery, Isla Fisher, Billy Boyd, Stephen Root, Poppy Liu, Cheri Oteri, Kate Micucci, and Melissa Villaseñor. Kelly Stables voices Harold Hutchins, the character who, within the story’s world, created both Dog Man and Captain Underpants.
The movie Dog Man was a hit with both critics and audiences! It received a high “Fresh” rating of 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on over 100 reviews. The film also performed very well financially, earning over $145.6 million despite costing only $40 million to make. Plus, Dog Man was recognized with several award nominations and won the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Score in an Animated Film.
What’s Next for the Stars of Dog Man?
Although there’s no official news about another Dog Man movie yet, fans will be able to see two of its actors together in a film coming out soon. Isla Fisher and Pete Davidson previously starred in a biographical thriller about the story of Bitcoin.
A new movie called Bitcoin will feature Casey Affleck playing Craig Steven Wright, the man who claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto – the anonymous creator of Bitcoin. The film also stars Davidson as Calvin Ayre, Gal Gadot as Charlotte Miller, Finlay Robertson as Balthazar Harrington III, and Fisher in a role that hasn’t been revealed yet.
Dog Man will be available for streaming on Peacock beginning July 30.
