As per the storyline of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, the superhero team made their big screen debut four years ago on August 8th in the year 2025. This is certainly a momentous occasion, and I must say that every aspect of director Matt Shakman’s latest Marvel movie has lived up to the expectations. Regardless of who you are, I believe we can all concur that the character H.E.R.B.I.E not only represents cutting-edge retro-futuristic science, but is also incredibly endearing.

I hadn’t believed there was room for improvement in his first film appearance in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“. But, Disney Imagineering managed to change my mind by incorporating him into the new Disneyland features, introducing a significant upgrade. Where CGI was previously used, science and engineering now make it possible for this character to physically move around Anaheim’s entertainment destination, just as he did in “First Steps“! In the video, Executive R&D Imagineer Josh Gorin elaborated that this particular member of the Fantastic Four can freely move around on a versatile eight-inch ball. Additionally, he possesses the skill to determine his location, direction, and motion at an astonishing rate of 250 times per second.

Once more, the WDI team has transformed the apparently straightforward into a reality through contemporary technology. It’s a feat that echoes the remarkable accomplishment of the animatronic Spider-Man in Avengers Campus, where he plays the role of stuntman, adding an extra layer of realism to the Marvel Studios’ magical universe.
