
The long-awaited Dirty Dancing sequel is finally moving forward. After being announced in 2020, the project faced several delays and was stuck in development for years.
According to reports, a sequel to the classic film Dirty Dancing is officially in the works. Producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are leading the project, with plans to begin filming later this year.
Kim Rosenstock (known for Dying for Sex) is writing the script for the Dirty Dancing sequel. Jennifer Grey will executive produce and return as Frances “Baby” Houseman. Currently, the sequel doesn’t have a director. Jonathan Levine was originally set to direct, but he’s stepped down from that role, though he will remain an executive producer. The film has been in development for several years.
