An impressive fan-made image reimagines actor Michael C. Hall as the son of the supervillain Darkseid, giving him a superhero makeover.
A fan artist on DeviantArt, Minsc93, created a piece showing how great Michael C. Hall (known for Dexter) would be as Orion in the DC Universe. The artwork depicts Hall with Orion’s signature scars as he takes off his helmet, with Jamie Bell, also perfectly cast, looking on as Lightray. You can see the impressive fan art below.
Who Is Orion?
Orion, a character created by comic book legend Jack Kirby, debuted in 1971’s New Gods #1 with other characters from the Fourth World. He’s the son of the villain Darkseid and his wife, Tigra. As part of a peace deal between their worlds, Orion was given to Highfather to be raised, while Scott Free, known as Mister Miracle, was sent to Apokolips to grow up there.
It’s no surprise that Highfather and the New Gods have had a big impact. Orion, with his incredible strength and the powerful Astro-Force, can handle nearly any challenge in the DC Universe. This has made him a central character in many comic books and animated series, though he hasn’t appeared in a live-action DC movie yet.
What’s Next for Michael C. Hall?
In 2025, Michael C. Hall reprised his famous role as . The new series was praised for revitalizing the franchise and offered a fresh direction after twenty years.
In October, a second season of Dexter: Resurrection was officially confirmed. This new season will bring back Dexter Morgan and introduce a new serial killer terrorizing New York City – the New York Ripper. Some fans have already drawn comparisons between this new villain and Arthur Mitchell, also known as the Trinity Killer, even before the season airs.
Fans hoping for a spinoff series focusing on the Trinity Killer, the character John Lithgow famously played on Dexter, probably shouldn’t hold their breath. According to reports from last year, the project is currently stalled, and it’s unclear if the network will approve it. The focus seems to be on Dexter: Resurrection, and given the cancellation of Original Sin – a show that already had a strong audience – it’s unlikely they’ll move forward with a prequel about the Trinity Killer.
