The show has resonated strongly with viewers. Jack Alcott, who portrays Harrison Morgan – the son of Michael C. Hall’s character – recently discussed the danger his character faces.
In the new series, Harrison is now played by an adult actor, having previously been seen as a child in the original show. When questioned about whether Charley’s earlier threat to Harrison hinted at future events, actor Alcott admitted it was a valid point. “I hadn’t considered that connection, but it’s definitely possible,” Alcott said. “However, she seemed to escape that situation without much trouble, so she’d likely need a strong, personal reason to go after Harrison.”
Alcott was thrilled about the bigger Season 1 finale, describing the gala scenes as feeling like a small-scale spy movie – something he’d always dreamed of doing. He especially enjoyed playing a spy with his on-screen son, even getting to use a secret earpiece during a party scene. He said filming was incredibly fun every single day.
As a big fan, I’m really intrigued by this new take on Harrison. Seeing him with something to actually lose is a fascinating shift, and honestly, it’s almost more compelling than when he was a guy with nothing to hold back. You definitely wouldn’t want to cross him either way! This 10-episode series, developed by Clyde Phillips, continues the story after Dexter: New Blood and the original Dexter, and it’s coming to Paramount+ with the Premium plan on July 11, 2025.
Dexter: Resurrection Has Been Renewed For A Second Season
The new series picks up ten weeks after the end of Dexter: New Blood. Dexter Morgan, now recovered from being shot, heads to New York City to find his son, Harrison. Meanwhile, Captain Angel Batista from Miami is pursuing them both. The show stars Michael C. Hall, Julia Alcott, Uma Thurman, David Zayas, Ntare Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Emilia Suárez, James Remar, and Peter Dinklage.
Michael C. Hall announced the renewal of Dexter: Resurrection in a video posted to the show’s YouTube channel. He thanked fans for watching the recent season, saying he hoped they enjoyed it. He then revealed that the show has been renewed for another season, with writers already starting to work on new episodes, and promised more details would be shared soon.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 does not have a release date at this time.
