But honestly, the suspense is officially over. A recent casting announcement, months before Season 2 hits in October, has completely blown the lid off that particular storyline. It’s a bit disappointing, frankly, to have the mystery solved before the season even begins.

Brian Cox will be playing the New York Ripper. Frampt’s character could be hugely important in Season 2, so much so that his initial introduction might seem minor in comparison to the bigger threats. While Dexter has dealt with dangerous killers before, Frampt appears to be one of the most difficult and active ones yet. The conflict between Frampt and the Bay Harbor Butcher will likely be the central focus of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, and revealing Brian Cox’s involvement now suggests that reveal won’t be the biggest surprise of the season.
