Deathstroke Takes On An Epic Sci-Fi Villain In This Brutal Crossover Event

Deathstroke, along with a couple of other fan-favorite characters, will be at the forefront of DC: Next Level.

As the DC K.O. event wraps up, DC Comics is launching the next phase, called DC: Next Level. It will start with new stories focusing on three of the DC Universe’s most compelling characters – heroes, villains, and those who fall somewhere in between. Lobo and Batwoman are headlining this push, but Deathstroke will also be getting his own solo series soon.

Launching on March 18, 2026, Deathstroke: The Terminator #1 is the latest addition to DC Comics’ new lineup, DC: Next Level. It follows the March releases of Lobo #1 by Skottie Young and Jorge Corona (March 4th) and Batwoman #1 by Greg Rucka and DaNi (March 11th), completing the initial wave of titles. The comic is written by Tony Fleecs with art by Carmine Di Giandomenico.

DC Comics’ new Deathstroke: The Terminator #1 promises intense, over-the-top action and a thrilling story from writer Tony Fleecs (Stray Dogs, Omega Kids), with dynamic artwork by Carmine Di Giandomenico (The Flash). Get ready for a more violent return of DC’s deadliest assassin!

Scott Snyder, the writer of DC K.O. and Absolute Batman, explained that he and Josh are thrilled to move into the next stage of the DC All In initiative with ‘Next Level.’ Building on the success of the DC All In Special, the launch of the Absolute universe, and the current DC K.O. event, they plan to continue taking bold creative risks in 2026, fueled by positive fan and retailer response and strong story progression.

Williamson shared his enthusiasm for this new project, explaining it’s meant to revitalize DC’s core comic books. He compared it to how ‘Absolute Universe’ previously sparked fresh ideas and new titles, and hopes ‘DC: Next Level’ will create a similar wave of excitement.

Who Is Deathstroke In DC Comics?

Deathstroke, the deadly mercenary Slade Wilson, first appeared in New Teen Titans #2 in 1980, created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. He quickly became one of the Teen Titans’ most frightening enemies. Driven by the loss of his son, Grant Wilson (the first Ravager), Deathstroke dedicated his life to destroying everything the Titans held dear.

Okay, so everyone’s hyped about the new Deathstroke solo series, and rightfully so! But there’s even more Deathstroke coming! I just found out he’s actually going to make his first appearance in the Absolute Batman #19 comic, which should be hitting stores around April. Pretty cool, right?

Deathstroke: The Terminator #1 goes on sale March 18, 2026, from DC Comics.
