A fresh snapshot emerged from the Clayface movie collection, hinting at a significant storyline twist that could perplex devotees. Set to be helmed by James Watkins, the movie is slated for theater release in September 2026. Starring Tom Rhys Harries as the main character, production for Clayface is underway in Liverpool, where the city has been metamorphosed into Gotham City.
Clayface set photos tease Matt Hagen’s death in DCU movie
A fresh image leaked from the filming location of the upcoming DC Universe’s Clayface movie is creating a buzz online, seemingly hinting at a significant storyline surprise.
In a fresh user-generated image, now known as DCU Prime TV on X (previously Twitter), viewers might spot an individual clutching a newspaper. The headline on the front page screams, “ACTOR MATT HAGEN DEAD!”, implying a significant plot reveal from the upcoming movie. This set photo has sparked debates online about potential spoilers.
The twist in the movie suggests two possibilities: firstly, Tom Rhys Harriss’ character Matt Hagen, aka Clayface, might perish at the end of the film; secondly, there’s a chance he dies midway through and news about his demise spreads rapidly. Yet, it is later revealed that after an experiment, Hagen resurfaces as Clayface again. At present, specific details concerning the movie’s plot remain undisclosed.
In a July interview with CBS Mornings, James Gunn discussed the tone of the upcoming Clayface movie and mentioned that while it shares the same universe, it’s a completely separate horror film altogether.
As a cinephile, I’d put it this way: “Each director and writer on our team infuses their unique artistic flair into our films. You won’t find a uniform style here; instead, every movie offers its own distinctive touch, unlike a series of Superman reboots.
