DC Studios Unveils First Look At Superman In Supergirl 2026 Movie

DC Studios has revealed our first glimpse of David Corenswet as Superman in the upcoming Supergirl movie, slated for release in 2026. As cousins from Krypton, Superman (Kal-El) and Supergirl (Kara Zor-el) are iconic and incredibly powerful figures in the DC Universe. They’ll be the main focus of the first two films in the newly reimagined DC Universe, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, and fans are eagerly anticipating seeing them together on screen.

James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, shared a sneak peek of the upcoming second trailer for the Supergirl movie. The teaser, posted on his social media, begins with a shot of space and then shows Supergirl inside her ship, watching a message from David Corenswet, who plays Superman. This is the first glimpse fans have gotten of Corenswet in his role for the new DC film.

The trailer doesn’t fully reveal Milly Alcock’s version of Supergirl, but Clark Kent sends a message to his cousin, asking when she plans to return to Earth. The trailer ends with a shot of Kara holding an old iPod and listening to Jimmy Ruffin’s song, “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted.”

Although we don’t yet know exactly how Superman will be involved in the 2026 Supergirl movie, the recently released footage proves that David Corenswet did film new scenes for it. This will be his second time playing Superman in live-action, following his debut in the 2025 Superman film, which kicked off the new DCU movie series.

This news follows Milly Alcock’s first appearance in the DC Universe as part of the Superman movie, where she appeared in the final scene. David Corenswet is now anticipated to make a comparable cameo in Alcock’s upcoming film, and it’s possible his part could be expanded upon as more details are revealed.
