Another company has expressed interest in buying Warner Bros., adding a new potential owner to the competition for the rights to DC Comics characters and stories.
What new owner is potentially eyeing purchasing Warner Bros.?
A recent report from Puck News indicates that Netflix is considering a possible offer to acquire Warner Bros. and its properties. Talk of Netflix’s interest grew during the week, and Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav were even spotted together at the boxing match between Terence Crawford and Canelo Álvarez this weekend.
Details about Netflix’s offer weren’t made public, but they are reportedly interested in acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery (WB). This follows news that Paramount Skydance is also pursuing a purchase. That bid is financially supported by the Ellison family – David Ellison, who owns Skydance Media, and his father, Larry Ellison, the co-founder of Oracle and one of the world’s richest people, with a net worth around $393 billion.
Reports suggest Paramount is considering a full takeover of Warner Bros., encompassing its TV channels and film studio. This is surprising because Warner Bros. is currently worth over twice as much as Paramount Skydance, with a market value of $33 billion.
We haven’t finalized any agreements with companies yet, so we need to wait and see what Warner Bros. decides to do.
