After the final episodes of Stranger Things were released in theaters and on streaming, one of its stars has left a major upcoming film. According to Variety, David Harbour will no longer be in Behemoth!, a new movie also starring Pedro Pascal. Harbour’s representatives have not made any statements about this change.
According to Variety, David Harbour felt burnt out after finishing Stranger Things and is currently taking a break from acting. Some reports also suggest the role of Jim Hopper may be recast. Harbour, a veteran actor with over twenty years of experience, became a global star in 2016 thanks to his portrayal of the police chief in the hugely popular series.
The movie Behemoth, which Harbour has left, comes from Gilroy, the Oscar-nominated writer and director of Michael Clayton and the creator of the Emmy-winning Star Wars series Andor. Details about the plot are scarce, but it will center on “a musician from a family of musicians who returns to Los Angeles,” and will also feature Olivia Wilde, Mathew Lillard, and Eva Victor.
