The military drama SEAL Team, starring David Boreanaz, will soon be available on a new streaming service. It’s expected to arrive in just a few weeks.
Starting August 18th, fans can watch the action series SEAL Team on Netflix in the U.S., as well as in countries like the UK, Canada, Australia, and throughout Latin America. This is thanks to a new deal between Netflix and Paramount Global, which will also add Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown and the show Watson to Netflix’s offerings.
SEAL Team Previously Switched Homes
As a huge fan of military dramas, I really followed SEAL Team. It was developed by Benjamin Cavell and ran for seven seasons, starting back in 2017. Originally, it aired on CBS for four seasons, but then moved over to Paramount+ during its fifth season. Honestly, it thrived on the streaming service, giving us three more seasons of intense action before wrapping up.
Before deciding to renew SEAL Team for another season, CBS thought about switching it to Paramount+. Because the show was still popular, they eventually made an agreement with Paramount+ to start showing some episodes of Season 5 before fully moving the series there.
The fifth season of the show finally aired on CBS in fall 2023, helping to fill programming gaps created by the Hollywood strikes. Viewers were able to reconnect with the team of SEALs, portrayed by actors Nathan Boreanz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., Jessica Paré, A.J. Buckley, Toni Trucks, and Judd Lormand.
SEAL Team Has Been Praised for Its Authenticity
SEAL Team is a military drama that portrays the lives and dangerous missions of an elite Navy SEAL team around the globe. The show strives for authenticity and has been praised by real-life Navy SEALs.
Former Navy SEAL DJ Shipley recently watched two episodes of the show SEAL Team and shared his professional opinion. While offering some constructive criticism, he largely praised the show, giving it an 8 out of 10 for how realistically it portrays the work and tactics of Navy SEALs in combat situations.
During its broadcast, SEAL Team earned two Primetime Emmy Award nominations. The first, in 2018, recognized its exceptional original dramatic score. In 2019, the show was nominated for Outstanding Stunt Coordination in a drama series.
Currently, there’s no sign that the show will be removed from its current streaming platform. But good news for fans – all seven seasons will also be available on Netflix starting August 18th, giving viewers another way to enjoy the series.
