One of the stars of the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, hinted that Season 2 will feature a scene even more impactful than a famous moment from Season 3 of the original Netflix show. The new season, part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Six, is scheduled to premiere on March 24, 2026, and will have eight episodes – one less than the nine episodes in the previous season.
The new season continues the story right after the first one ended. It shows Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, forming a team to fight against Mayor Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) and his group dedicated to stopping vigilantes.
Vincent D’Onofrio talks about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, recently hinted that a scene in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again is even more impactful than a famous moment from Season 3 of the original Daredevil on Netflix.
While promoting the new season, Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox (who plays Matt Murdock) took time to answer questions from fans on IMDb. One fan asked what scene each actor thought best defined their character.
He then pointed to the climactic fight from the third season’s finale, where Murdock fiercely defeats Wilson Fisk and declares, “I beat you,” finally letting out all the anger he’d been holding in. He also mentioned Murdock’s inner conflict – his struggle with not being able to permanently eliminate Fisk because of his own principles.
D’Onofrio explained the scene by connecting it to the dual nature of Murdock and Daredevil. He pointed out that while Daredevil is physically attacking, Matt Murdock – the person beneath the mask – wouldn’t allow himself to deliver a fatal blow.
The actor, known for his role in Full Metal Jacket, added that he thought it was incredible. He even believed they surpassed that moment in the second season.
During the interview, D’Onofrio also mentioned working with Matthew Lillard, who will portray Mr. Charles, a rival to Fisk’s character. He described Lillard as “a completely unique actor” and said there’s really no one else quite like him.
D’Onofrio then pointed out Lillard’s extensive experience as an actor, specifically mentioning his performance in SLC Punk!. He added that Lillard’s talent made filming a scene with Ayelet Zurer at Gracie Mansion in New York City a genuinely enjoyable experience.
