The new season of Daredevil: Born Again is bringing even more trouble for Matt Murdock, including the return of a former girlfriend. The Disney+ series, a continuation of the original Netflix show, has introduced new storylines for Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, notably a relationship with therapist Heather Glenn (Maragarita Levieva). While Season 1 focused on Matt fighting crime through legal battles, his secret life as a vigilante created tension with Heather.
The initial trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has confirmed that actress Deborah Ann Levieva will return as Heather. However, their relationship with Matt will be much more strained this time around. In Season 1, Heather and Matt parted ways on bad terms because she opposed his vigilante activities and aligned herself with Wilson Fisk. The trailer briefly shows Levieva as Heather, sitting across from someone in an interrogation room at the 58-second mark.

In Season 2, Heather takes on a new role as Mental Health Commissioner working for Fisk in his mayoral office. After providing marriage counseling to Fisk and Vanessa, she developed a connection with Fisk. This led to him offering her a job at the end of the season, where she effectively becomes his advisor on mental health matters.
Although it’s unclear exactly what happened between Matt and Heather, the show’s creator, Dario Scardapane, has indicated that Heather is Matt’s ex-girlfriend. This suggests they will either break up early in Season 2, or have already broken up before the season begins.

So, in the Daredevil: Born Again series, they introduced this new character, Heather, who quickly became a love interest for Matt after Karen Page left town following Foggy’s death. Things moved fast – Matt even dusted off the Daredevil suit to save her from this villain, Muse. It’s funny, though, because even after being rescued by a masked vigilante, she still wasn’t a fan of them, and she’s starting to get suspicious that Matt might be hiding something… like, maybe he is Daredevil!

By the end of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, it became clear how the disagreement would resolve. When Heather returns in Season 2, as both a former partner and someone who now helps Wisk, things will become even more difficult for Matt Murdock.
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again features returning stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, alongside Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, and Krysten Ritter. The new season will begin streaming on Disney+ on March 24, 2026.
What Matt and Heather’s Break-Up Means For Season 2

In Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again, Heather was a supportive friend to Matt. However, in Season 2, they’ll find themselves on opposing sides, creating conflict as they pursue different goals.
Matt’s relationship with Heather could create problems for him. Because she now advises Fisk, she could share confidential information about Matt with the mayor, which could hinder his plans to oppose him.
Matt and Heather’s recent split conveniently sets the stage for Karen’s return, as previews and promotional materials confirm they’ll be working together again in the new season. The trailer hints at a rekindled connection between Matt and Karen in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, and suggests their relationship might even become romantic now that Heather is no longer involved.
Karen and Matt have an edge over Heather and Matt’s current predicament because Karen already knows about Matt’s double life and is supportive of him and his superhero team. This season of the Disney+ show allows them to revisit their established connection from the Netflix series Daredevil, finally giving them a chance to explore that history.
