Be warned, this article reveals major plot points from the first episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 2! The season 2 premiere is a powerful start, raising expectations for what’s to come. It features exciting action scenes, including one that appears to be a nod to the original Daredevil series. Many fans consider the original Netflix Daredevil series to be the best live-action Marvel show ever made.
Charlie Cox first became known as Daredevil in a series that captured the character’s gritty and mature feel. It was especially praised for its intense and skillfully choreographed fight scenes. Now, with the new Disney+ show Daredevil: Born Again undergoing creative changes to resemble the original, the second season appears to be intentionally echoing the style of the earlier Netflix series.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2’s Fight Scene Feels Like A Netflix Callback
Okay, so jumping into season two of Daredevil, we find Matt Murdock already rocking the sleek black suit – the one with the red ‘DD’ on the chest. The season immediately throws us into a fantastic action sequence where Daredevil takes on a ship full of Kingpin’s guys. Honestly, watching him move through the shadows, silently taking down enemies amongst all those shipping containers, felt like something straight out of a classic ninja film. It was a really effective and visually striking opening – a bit reminiscent of other stealth-focused action movies, but done incredibly well for the series.
I think there’s a really cool reason for that! It seems like the Marvel team might have been intentionally referencing the original Daredevil show. You know, in the Netflix series, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil actually had his very first fight down at the docks. And it’s amazing to remember he wasn’t in the full Daredevil suit yet – he was wearing that iconic, early black suit with the bandages, the one he made himself. It’s a neat little callback for fans like me!
The final fight in the Netflix Daredevil series saw Matt Murdock defeat human traffickers and rescue the women they were holding captive. The first episode of the new Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, features a similar scene where Matt battles a ship full of Kingpin’s men who are smuggling illegal weapons. As a fan of the original show, it’s great to see these familiar elements return.
Daredevil: Born Again’s Action Scenes Have Improved In Season 2
The first season of Daredevil: Born Again was good overall, but had some weaknesses. It leaned heavily into the legal side of the story, which meant the superhero action wasn’t as strong as fans hoped for. Fortunately, the first episode of season 2 shows that Marvel heard the feedback and is making changes.
The fight scenes in the new Daredevil series are incredibly impressive, featuring powerful impacts and takedowns. They successfully blend the dynamic, weapon-focused action and acrobatic fighting style of the first Born Again season with the grounded and realistic tone of the original Netflix series. These fights could very well be the best Daredevil has ever had.
