Peacock’s original movie, All Her Fault, broke records for the biggest streaming debut ever on the platform, and actress Dakota Fanning has shared her reaction to the impressive milestone.
Based on Andrea Mara’s 2021 novel, the eight-part series launched on Peacock in November 2025 and quickly became the platform’s most popular show. Viewers watched an impressive 46 million hours of ‘All Her Fault’ in its first three weeks, making it the biggest debut for a Peacock original.
During an interview with ScreenRant’s Ash Crossan at SXSW, actress Fanning expressed her excitement about the positive reception to The Sun Never Sets, saying it was “wonderful to see so many people enjoying and watching it.” She also described working on All Her Fault as a “very fun” experience.
It was fantastic to see how much people enjoyed it and were engaged with it. I really had fun being involved.
Dakota Fanning has appeared in many popular films throughout her career, including Uptown Girls, Man on Fire, War of the Worlds, Charlotte’s Web, The Secret Life of Bees, the Twilight series, The Runaways, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Her newest movie, The Sun Never Sets, recently premiered at the SXSW festival.
She’s appeared in shows like Taken and The Alienist, as well as The Perfect Couple. She’s also an executive producer on the new Apple TV series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, which features her sister, Elle Fanning, in a leading role.
In addition to her novel All Her Fault, Mara has authored seven other books: The Other Side of the Wall, One Click, The Sleeper Lies, Hide and Seek, No One Saw a Thing, Someone in the Attic, and It Should Have Been You. All Her Fault is the first of her novels to be made into a movie or TV show.
In the Peacock series, Sarah Snook plays a mother whose child disappears during a playdate. She turns to Jenny Kaminski, played by Dakota Fanning, for help. Together, they and a detective investigate, uncovering surprising and disturbing secrets along the way.
Joining Sadie Sink in the cast of All Her Fault are Jake Lacy, Jay Ellis, Abby Elliott, Michael Peña, Thomas Cocquerel, and Daniel Monks. Sadie Snook is also an executive producer on the series, along with creator Meghan Gallagher, and fellow executive producers Christine Sacani, Nigel Marchant, Gareth Neame, Joanna Strevens, Minkie Spiro, and Jennifer Gabler Rawlings.
Lots of people are watching All Her Fault, and critics and viewers alike seem to love it. The film has an 80% rating from critics and a 73% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Peacock thriller has been recognized with several award nominations recently, including Golden Globe nods for Best Limited Series and Best Actress (Snook). It also received recognition at the Critics’ Choice Awards, where both the show and actor Oscar Peña were nominated, and Snook won the award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie.
Although the author hasn’t written a follow-up book to All Her Fault, the show’s creator, Gallagher, would be willing to make more seasons of the TV show, despite it originally being planned as a single, self-contained story.
