Critical Role Officially Returns With New Adventure August 4

One of the best stories is making a major comeback courtesy of WEBTOON.

WEBTOON is excited to announce it will soon feature Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins, the popular comic from Dark Horse Comics. Starting August 4th, fans can read this prequel series in WEBTOON’s vertical scrolling format. This marks the second Critical Role series to come to the platform, following The Mighty Nein Origins.

Vox Machina Origins Is One of the Best Critical Role Series

Dark Horse Comics’ Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Vol. 1 tells the story of how the heroes known as Vox Machina first came together. Before they saved the world, they were just a group of adventurers taking on separate jobs. Their paths cross when they begin investigating strange happenings in the town of Stilben, and they’ll have to work together – and fight – to uncover the truth and survive.

The six-part comic series Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins explored the early adventures of the beloved group, Vox Machina. Based on a story developed by Matthew Mercer (co-creator and star of Critical Role) and written by Matthew Colville, with artwork from Olivia Samson and Chris Kawagiwa, the series received positive reviews from both critics and fans when it was released in 2017.

The comic series Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins started with its first volume and has since grown to include three more, totaling 24 issues. Written by Jodie Houser with art by Noah Hynes and Diana Sousa, the story begins when Sire Fince vanishes, launching a large-scale mystery that quickly involves the members of Vox Machina.

The show’s popularity led to a follow-up prequel called Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins, which is now a graphic novel series. Each issue of The Mighty Nein Origins tells the backstory of a different member of The Mighty Nein, characters who first appeared in the second campaign of Critical Role back in 2018.

Fans have always loved exploring fantasy worlds through comics, and now the popular Critical Role series is back! The newest season, which began on July 9th, revisits the terrifying Halcyon Domain for both players and viewers.

I’m super excited about Age of Umbra: Sallowlands! The cast is amazing – Laura Bailey, Jennifer English, Abubakar Salim, Vico Ortiz, and Zachery Renauldo are all in it, and Matthew Mercer is back as the Game Master. Basically, it’s a six-part story about five unlikely heroes who end up in the Sallowlands, which used to be a beautiful lake but is now a harsh, desert canyon filled with dust storms and hidden mysteries.

Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins will be available on WEBTOON beginning August 4.
