Photos of Clayface’s latest shoot appear to reveal a new, as yet unverified cast member and an actor with bandages. The project, Clayface, is derived from the DC Comics character of the same name. Voice acted by Alan Tudyk, he made his debut in the first season of DC Universe’s Creature Commands. For the live-action movie, Tom Rhys Harries will be taking on the role of this character.
Clayface set photos feature a bandaged actor and Eddie Marsan in mystery role
New images and clips emerging from the filming location of Liverpool hint at different elements of the upcoming Clayface movie. One snapshot features an actor, wrapped in bandages, standing outside an entryway that seems to be an emergency room or hospital setting.
From my perspective as a film enthusiast, I recently witnessed an intriguing scene unfolding on set. A group of hospital staff swiftly wheeled a patient inside on a stretcher. It’s plausible that the actor portraying this patient, either Harries himself or his stand-in, was sporting a bandage – adding an element of mystery to the proceedings. The fascinating thing is, this scene was being filmed right in front of the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Law Courts, nestled within Derby Square, Liverpool.
In some images and footage, it seems like Eddie Marsan could be present on the set for Clayface. However, his potential role within the movie remains uncertain as DC Studios has not officially announced him as part of the cast yet.
Marsan, who has a longstanding career in acting, is recognized for his roles in Happy-Go-Lucky from 2008 and Still Life in 2014. In the 2025 historical series, King & Conqueror, he took on the character of King Edward the Confessor.
Based on the logline, Clayface is a chilling horror story about an actor in Hollywood who uses an injection to stay popular. However, he discovers that this substance allows him to transform his physical appearance, turning himself into a malleable figure of clay.
In a new development, James Watkins – known for his work on The Woman in Black and Speak No Evil – is set to direct Clayface. The script for this project has been penned by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini. Apart from Lesley Harries, the only other actor confirmed to join the cast so far is Naomi Ackie.
Clayface will come out in US theaters on September 11, 2026.
