Chucky Franchise’s Fate Confirmed By Jennifer Tilly 2 Years After Child’s Play Show’s Cancellation

There’s more Child’s Play coming, according to Chucky franchise star Jennifer Tilly.

The Chucky TV show, which aired on USA and Syfy, ended after three violent seasons two years ago, but the actor who plays Tiffany says that doesn’t mean the infamous, seemingly indestructible killer doll is finished with causing trouble – or using strong language.

Tilly recently shared in an interview with ET that even though the TV series has finished, more episodes featuring Chucky and Tiffany, known as the ‘Gruesome Twosome,’ are planned.

Jennifer Tilly first played Tiffany Valentine, Chucky’s romantic partner, in the movie Bride of Chucky in 1998. She continued to play the character in several subsequent films and also in a television series that has since been cancelled.

Don Mancini, the creator of the Child’s Play franchise, launched a TV series in 2021 featuring Chucky. Brad Dourif once again provided the voice for the notorious serial killer who is magically bound inside a Good Guy doll.

Although the TV show was cancelled despite fan efforts to renew it for a fourth season, creator Don Mancini has assured fans that Chucky isn’t gone for good. He stated, “Chucky will return! He ALWAYS comes back.”

In a March 2024 interview, Don Mancini hinted at a potential new Child’s Play movie. He shared that he’s currently developing a new Chucky film, according to Bloody Disgusting.

Tilly and Mancini aren’t the only ones excited about the future of the Child’s Play series. Devon Sawa, who stars in the Chucky TV show, recently shared his thoughts on why Chucky will likely remain popular. In an interview with Forbes in February 2025, Sawa confidently stated, “I’d bet everything that we’ll see more Chucky content.” He explained that the franchise is very profitable, with strong sales of merchandise like t-shirts, cereal, and lunch boxes, ensuring its continued production.

Despite the cancellation of the Chucky series, which wasn’t due to a lack of viewers but rather budget constraints, Chucky continues to be a significant part of pop culture. While a fourth season of the show is unlikely, a new Child’s Play movie seems possible. This is based on comments from creator Don Mancini and actress Jennifer Tilly, who both seem hopeful about the future of the characters and a potential pairing of Chucky and Tiffany.
