It’s almost time for networks to decide which shows will be back on TV in 2026, a nerve-wracking period for both shows and viewers. CBS has already announced renewals for ten of its series, but the network hasn’t made decisions on two scripted shows yet. These two series are still waiting to learn if they’ll be renewed or cancelled.

CBS Renewed Ten Shows
CBS has renewed ten of its shows for another season, just like they did back in 2025. Here’s the list:
- NCIS
- NCIS: Origins
- NCIS: Sydney
- Fire Country
- Matlcok
- Elsbeth
- Tracker
- Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage
- Survivor
- The Amazing Race
CBS announced that Tracker is currently their most-watched series, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is their top comedy, and Matlock is the No. 1 entertainment show on Thursdays. These renewals aren’t unexpected, and fans will likely be very happy to see more episodes.
Before the recent renewals, we already knew the status of several other shows. Ghosts was previously confirmed for two more seasons in 2025, meaning it would be part of the 2026-2027 lineup. Boston Blue and Sheriff Country both received renewals for their second seasons late last year. Plus, FBI was renewed for multiple seasons a while back, and we already knew what was happening with the new series Cupertino and Einstein.
You’re probably wondering what’s happening next. Right now, the future of two shows is uncertain, so let’s discuss them.

Now, We’re Waiting To Find Out The Fates Of DMV And Watson
CBS has announced its programming for the 2025-2026 season, and only two currently-airing scripted shows remain uncertain: the new sitcom DMV and the second-season drama Watson.
I’m starting to worry about when we’ll hear updates on these shows. CBS did say they’ll announce more renewals and new series later, but with news coming out about almost everything else, it’s hard not to feel anxious.

Besides DMV and Watson, the futures of CIA and Marshals are also uncertain. Since those shows haven’t premiered yet, we’ll need to wait and see if they’re renewed or cancelled.
We expect to find out what happens with DMV and Watson soon. Until then, you can watch all the shows discussed in this article on CBS or through a Paramount+ subscription.
