In a recent conversation with Vanity Fair, the cast of ‘Frankenstein’ discussed their approach to Mary Shelley’s classic novel, filming challenging technical scenes for the upcoming screen adaptation, and collaborating with visionary director Guillermo del Toro. Among the cast, Jacob Elordi initially planned to avoid watching past versions of ‘Frankenstein’ to avoid being swayed by previous portrayals of the monster. It’s quite odd to see Anna Kendrick, who was once a young actress in movies like Twilight and Pitch Perfect, now appear as a middle-aged adult. Despite the passage of time, it feels strange that she no longer plays characters of similar age, instead depicting more mature roles. I guess I still mentally associate her with the fresh-faced newcomer from Up In The Air (a film I’ve just realized came out in 2009). Oops!
