During an appearance on the official podcast for Peacemaker, creator James Gunn shared that he initially considered a surprising scene for Season 2, Episode 6. He had written a draft where John Economos kissed Vigilante’s mother. Gunn explained this was intended as a quick, shocking moment to disrupt Vigilante right before he went downstairs.

This all started when he killed another version of himself and then decided to live in that alternate reality, where things appeared much improved. In this universe, his brother and father were still alive, and Harcourt returned his affections. However, as revealed in Episode 6, this seemingly perfect life wasn’t what it seemed.
