As a big fan of Apple TV’s book adaptations – they’ve done some really great ones – I wasn’t surprised to hear they were developing another series. This time it’s Mick Herron’s Down Cemetery Road, and it’s especially exciting because it comes from the same author who brought us the fantastic Slow Horses. In fact, Morwenna Banks, who wrote for Slow Horses, is also behind the script for this new show. The story centers around a seemingly normal neighborhood thrown into chaos when a house blows up and a child vanishes – and the TV adaptation hints that there’s a much larger conspiracy unfolding than just a local tragedy.

As a huge fan of The Simpsons, I’ve been loving the podcast hosted by Nancy Cartwright – you know, the voice of Bart, Ralph, and Nelson – and her co-host Sofy Kurtz. They really dig into the show’s history, and it’s been fascinating to hear stories not just from the people who make the show, but also from some of the amazing guest stars who’ve been on it over the years.

This move immediately makes Disney a major player in the world of streaming TV in North America, especially considering their current dispute with YouTube TV over content costs and potential channel removals. It’s clear this isn’t accidental; it’s a strategic power play, and YouTube TV now faces a much stronger competitor.

As a big drama fan, I’ve noticed a lot of people think that family-focused show gets too much credit – they say it doesn’t have enough of those big, shocking twists we expect from a really gripping drama. But honestly, I think that’s where it succeeds. It feels so real, which is something a lot of shows sacrifice when they’re constantly trying to create unbelievable plotlines. And even nine years later, I still think the very first episode of the show is one of the best pilots I’ve ever seen – it just pulls you in immediately.

Disney is combining its Hulu live TV service with Fubo, a popular streaming service for live television. The combined service will have around 6 million subscribers in North America, putting it in direct competition with YouTube TV. However, Hulu + Live TV and Fubo will still operate as separate apps and services – the deal is primarily a business agreement where Disney will now own 70% of Fubo. Fubo’s CEO, David Gandler, has publicly welcomed the news.

He noted that, like the book and film, the story starts with a child being taken – in this case, Matty Clements – but they wanted to present it in a unique way. Fuchs also shared the reasoning behind making the first appearance of ‘It’ a mutant flying baby.

The new Netflix thriller, A House of Dynamite, is generating a lot of discussion after its recent release. The film creates intense suspense as a nation teeters on the brink of nuclear war, showing the crisis through the eyes of top government officials. The U.S. president faces a critical decision: respond to an attack immediately, even if it means escalating the conflict, or wait and see if a warhead actually explodes – potentially over Chicago. However, director Kathryn Bigelow chooses to end the movie before we see the outcome, a controversial decision that has divided viewers. Both director Bigelow and writer Noah Oppenheim have recently spoken out to explain and defend the film’s polarizing conclusion.

Following months of speculation, the BBC has announced it will continue making Doctor Who independently, without Disney’s participation. The BBC and Disney previously collaborated for two seasons of the show, featuring showrunner Russell T Davies and the Fifteenth Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa. This partnership also included the five-part Doctor Who spin-off, The War Between the Land and the Sea.

Colin Farrell, known for his role as the Penguin in The Batman, recently discussed the cancelled Sgt. Rock movie he was supposed to star in. He shared details about the project during an interview on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast.

Netflix’s new Italian thriller, The Monster of Florence, has become the platform’s most-watched show after its release on October 22nd. According to Variety, the series attracted 9.6 million viewers in its first week, surpassing the 8.6 million views earned by the second season of Nobody Wants This during its first week.
