According to a recent analysis of David Ellison’s first 100 days as Paramount’s head, the studio is unlikely to make a fourth movie featuring the cast of the recent Star Trek films. Variety reports that Paramount is now focusing on a new Star Trek movie with a different cast, meaning Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and the other actors from J.J. Abrams’ 2009 Star Trek and its sequels (Star Trek Into Darkness in 2013 and Star Trek Beyond in 2016) won’t be returning. Abrams produced those films.

A preview of DC Comics’ Absolute Superman #13 (from Jason Aaron, Rafa Sandoval, Ulises Arreola, and Becca Carey) shows Superman battling a massive army of Peacemakers from the Lazarus Corporation in the middle of the Battle of Kansas. While the Lazarus Corporation throws soldiers, tanks, and drones at him, they can’t overcome the incredible power of Superman’s suit and its AI, Sol. Sol not only helps Superman fight off the attackers, but also allows him to create a new, crimson Fortress of Solitude rising from the ground, effectively creating a boundary the Peacemakers can’t cross.

A standout character is set to be the primary antagonist in the next Batman movie. Before seeing more of Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne in The Batman 2 and the Dark Knight’s role in James Gunn’s DC Universe with The Brave and the Bold, an animated series will launch in 2026, pitting Batman against a powerful enemy.

Unfortunately, there’s more discouraging news about Star Trek 4. According to a recent Variety report on David Ellison’s first 100 days leading Paramount, the studio has decided against continuing with Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and the rest of the cast from the J.J. Abrams Star Trek movies. Despite this, Paramount remains committed to the Star Trek franchise and is planning a new film, though it will feature a different cast.

Dree Hemingway will star in a new film called The Hemingway Files, which tells the story of the challenging final years of her great-grandfather Ernest Hemingway (according to Deadline). Jessica M. Thompson, who previously directed ‘The Invitation,’ will direct the movie, based on a screenplay by Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert (known for ‘Armor’). The filmmakers are currently looking for actors to fill out the cast.

The story begins with a young boy running away from home in Derry who accidentally gets into a dangerous car. This is just the first in a series of frightening events that plague the town, as Pennywise continues to terrorize its children, with Clara Stack’s daughter, Lilly Bainbridge, appearing to be a primary target.

Season 51 of SNL has had some ups and downs, but the latest sketch was pretty good. To coincide with the highly discussed mayoral election, Saturday Night Live featured Miles Teller as Andrew Cuomo, Shane Gillis as Curtis Sliwa, and Youssef as Mamdani. According to NBC New York, when asked about the sketch while campaigning, Mamdani took the joke in good humor.

On a recent episode of his YouTube show, Kristian Harloff shared that Patrick Stewart’s role in Avengers: Doomsday will be his last ever. Harloff stated that Stewart plans to retire from acting after appearing as Charles Xavier in the film.

The new Predator film, Predator: Badlands, hits US cinemas this weekend. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, the movie features Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dek and Elle Fanning as Thia, a synthetic human created by the Weyland-Yutani corporation who is carrying some trauma.

Based on Amélie Nothomb’s own life story, Little Amélie tells the tale of a Belgian family living in Japan after World War II, beginning in August 1969. Amélie’s father, a diplomat, had been stationed in Japan for a while, but Amélie was the first of their three children to be born there. The story portrays a peaceful and sheltered life, seen through the innocent perspective of a baby, with the narrative focusing on the characters of Vallade and Cho Han.
