Prime Video’s “Young Sherlock” explores the early adventures of the famous detective, and leaves viewers wanting more with a great setup for a potential second season. Sherlock Holmes remains a popular figure, and because the rights to his character are widely available, many creators have put their own spin on the stories. One example is Andrew Lane’s book series, also called “Young Sherlock,” which has now been adapted into a TV show on Prime Video.

A new TV show called Young Sherlock brings the famous detective to life in Victorian England. The series, based on books by Andrew Lane and inspired by the stories of Arthur Conan Doyle, features Hero Fiennes Tiffin as a 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes. All episodes are currently available for streaming and have been well-received by critics.

Okay, let me tell you about this one. Directed by Mick Garris and written by Stephen King himself, it centers around a seriously twisted mother-son duo, Mary and Charles Brady. They’re not your average family – they’re essentially the last of a creepy, shapeshifting, almost-vampiric race. Here’s the kicker: they survive by… well, draining the life force of young women. So, they’re constantly on the move, hitting town after town, hunting for their next victim. It’s a dark premise, to say the least.

Though the show was initially a hit with both viewers and critics, the original network canceled it. Luckily, Netflix stepped in to save it! This allowed Lucifer to continue for three more seasons with more creative freedom and a storyline that really improved.
