This decision comes as the studio intends to reboot the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise with live-action films, overseen by producer Neal H. Moritz, who also worked on Sonic the Hedgehog. Because of this new direction, the previously planned R-rated movie was cancelled.
