James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad—available on HBO Max—essentially restarted the movie series with a fresh, R-rated take. Many of the actors from that film, particularly those who were also in Season 2 of Peacemaker, have continued on in the new DC Universe. When ScreenRant asked actress Daniela Melchior if she might reprise her role, she responded:

I’m not referring to Clark’s awkward interactions or even the famous lines from Christmas Vacation. I’m thinking about the scene around the middle of the movie, when Clark brings his boss, Mr. Shirley, a Christmas gift. Mr. Shirley is busy yelling at someone on the phone (“I’ll retool you!”) but tells Clark to put the gift on the table with the others. It’s easy to see all the presents lined up, but I just realized they all look exactly the same – including the gift Clark and Ellen worked so hard to choose for Mr. Shirley.

Looking closely at the high-quality shows from HBO and Paramount, it’s clear they’ve both achieved significant success. They’ve created compelling, dramatic series that have attracted large viewerships and earned widespread critical acclaim.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the live-action The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender will premiere on Paramount+ in Fall 2026. Plus, a new animated series called Avatar: Seven Havens, created by Avatar Studios, is also coming to the streaming service. Jane Wiseman, Paramount+’s Head of Originals, made an announcement regarding these new shows.

Kim Kardashian shared her hilariously relatable attempt to get North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm to smile for the camera. Netflix has tapped Johan Renck to direct its upcoming live-action Assassin’s Creed series. Renck is a well-known director with credits including episodes of Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and the Emmy-winning HBO drama Chernobyl. He most recently directed the 2024 Netflix film Spaceman, starring Adam Sandler. According to Variety, Renck is currently the only director attached to the Assassin’s Creed series, though the number of episodes hasn’t been announced.

Hugh Jackman gives a fantastic performance as Mike Sardina, a Vietnam War veteran and single dad in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the late 1980s. Mike is working through alcoholism and finds joy in singing and playing guitar for anyone who’ll listen. He works as a mechanic and also performs for Mark Shurilla (Michael Imperioli), who puts on a Buddy Holly tribute show at the state fair. While Mark wants him to perform a variety of artists, Mike prefers to stick with his beloved Neil Diamond songs.
