According to Deadline, R.L. Stine’s book series, *Stinetinglers*, is being adapted into an animated show by Limestone Animation, a new studio based in Ontario, Canada. The series began in 2022 and currently has four books, with a fifth planned for next year. Each book contains original short stories by Stine, the popular author behind the *Goosebumps* series, which has sold over 400 million copies worldwide in 35 languages. Stine stated that animation is the ideal way to bring the spooky stories of *Stinetinglers* to life.
I’m really excited about the *Cliffhanger* sequel, even though it’s had a bit of a bumpy road getting here! Originally, Sylvester Stallone was going to reprise his role as Gabe Walker, and the story was going to center around him getting kidnapped and his daughter having to save him. But things changed, and now Pierce Brosnan is taking on the role of Ray Cooper instead, with James playing his daughter, Sydney. I think it’s still going to be a great movie!
It’s no surprise that Daniel Day-Lewis gives a powerful performance in *Anemone*, his first film in eight years. However, I was particularly struck by one monologue in the middle of the movie. It’s a story Ray (played by Day-Lewis) tells his brother, Jem (Sean Bean), that’s both heartbreaking and disturbing – so much so that it evoked a strange mix of laughter and tears. It’s a rare and incredibly moving scene, and I was eager to ask the film’s co-writer and director about it during an interview.
Producer Robert Barsamian recently revealed to SFX Magazine that a new installment – the 13th – in the popular horror franchise is in development, along with a new video game.
