As a big fantasy fan, 2025 was an amazing year for the genre! We got a sequel everyone was talking about, a hilarious comedy with a fantastic cast about an angel, a beautiful new take on an old favorite from a director I really admire, and even a live-action version of a cartoon I loved. All these films together really made 2025 a standout year for fantasy!

Richard Harris beautifully portrayed Albus Dumbledore, the wise and kind Headmaster of Hogwarts, in the first Harry Potter film, The Sorcerer’s Stone. He captured Dumbledore as both intelligent and peaceful, though a bit distant. After Harris’s death in 2002, Michael Gambon took on the role for the remainder of the series.
