The latest case on “Watson,” titled “Expletive Deleted,” follows quickly after Dr. John Watson’s emotional reunion with Sherlock Holmes. The episode, which surprisingly included a near-profanity on CBS, had a strange quality that made it feel as if the entire encounter with Sherlock might have been a hallucination brought on by a medical issue for John.

Stephen King has remained popular for almost sixty years, and his work has consistently been adapted into films since Brian De Palma’s Carrie in 1976. What’s happening now isn’t a comeback for King himself, but rather a surge in the quality and number of adaptations of his stories. 2025 has already brought us several highly-regarded projects, including Oz Perkins’ The Monkey, Mike Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck, Francis Lawrence’s The Long Walk, MGM+’s The Institute, and the new HBO series, It: Welcome to Derry.

The world of the series has recently grown with season 2 of Gen V, a spin-off focusing on young superheroes at Godolkin University. Although Prime Video hasn’t officially renewed the show yet, the creator, Kripke, has said they are planning a third season.

While It: Welcome to Derry features some new faces, it also includes characters from Stephen King’s books. Notably, Leroy Hanlon is connected to Mike Hanlon, a central figure in the novel It. Plus, with a character appearing from The Shining, it’s interesting to consider how this story fits into the larger Stephen King universe.

The latest episode of South Park‘s 28th season will premiere on Friday, October 31st at 10pm Eastern and Pacific time on Comedy Central – a change from its usual Wednesday release. A promotional image shows Satan and Donald Trump wearing hard hats and overseeing construction work at the White House, hinting that they’re joining forces to tear it down. Just a week after it premiered on Netflix in February, Running Point was picked up for a second season. They started filming in August, but we don’t have a release date for the new season yet.

Ahead of its second season, Landman has announced some exciting news. In addition to changes for Tommy and Cami, Western star Sam Elliott is joining the cast. A recent trailer revealed Elliott will play Tommy’s father, which is expected to add new layers to Tommy’s already complex family life and potentially shed light on Norris Jr.’s background. However, the biggest challenge for Tommy will likely be the betrayal by Monty, as revealed by Cami.

The recently released prequel to It has been getting positive reviews. It’s led by Andy and Barbara Muschietti, who have a history with Stephen King adaptations, and Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane are the showrunners. Bill Skarsgard is returning as Pennywise, and the cast also includes Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, James Remar, Chris Chalk, Kimberly Guerrero, and others. The first episode, It: Welcome to Derry, aired on October 27th.
