Peacock is adding a lot of content in January! You’ll find weekly episodes of the Chicago series (Fire, Med, and PD), as well as Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU. The Critics Choice Awards will also be available, plus a selection of older films like Hail, Caesar!, Waterworld, and Rob Reiner’s Misery. And, just before the new year, Peacock added the new Yorgos Lanthimos film Bugonia, starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons.
2026 starts with a new film featuring Daisy Ridley (known from We Bury the Dead), which immediately made me think of Chaos Walking. Have you heard of it? This movie is based on the first book in Patrick Ness’s young adult dystopian series, originally titled The Knife of Never Letting Go – a much more compelling title, honestly, with a Dunelike quality. Chaos Walking* takes place in the distant future on a colonized planet where all men can hear each other’s thoughts – constantly. Let’s just say, it’s a pretty chaotic situation.
The creators of the hit show, the Duffers, recently talked to Deadline about wrapping up the series. Matt Duffer described the emotional reaction after they and the cast watched the final episode together. He said everyone was in tears, and afterwards they all went back to his apartment in New York. Some of the actors even chose to walk the 30-minute distance, seemingly needing time to come to terms with the ending. He added that everyone is still processing everything.

Luckily, Danny now has the power of T’an-Long, a powerful spectral dragon that Quan Yaozu previously killed. Along with his abilities as the Ghost Fist of Osiris, T’an-Long gives Danny the edge he needs to win. Afterward, the pair return to their new home in the Underworld, ready to answer the call if they’re needed again.
Despite not performing as well as the first Gladiator film, director Ridley Scott has expressed interest in continuing the story. Gladiator II takes place 16 years after the original and stars Paul Mescal as Lucius Verus Aurelius, a Roman prince living in exile. However, in a recent interview with The Guardian, Mescal shared news that could potentially delay or even halt the development of a third Gladiator movie.
Released in 2013, Hummingbird (also known as aka Hummingbird) was written and directed by Steven Knight, the creator of the popular series Peaky Blinders and the writer for the new James Bond film. The film stars Jason Statham as Joey, a troubled ex-soldier who returns to London after a difficult experience. After falling into a cycle of grief and alcohol abuse, Joey’s hidden skills are reignited when a friend disappears, forcing him back into action.

We decided to revisit some famously disliked TV series finales and see if they truly deserved their bad reputation. Surprisingly, many of them weren’t as terrible as we remembered – or at least, they made sense given the show’s overall themes. Perhaps our low expectations helped, or maybe some endings only resonate when you already know how the story concludes. It’s also possible we were simply too critical at the time and didn’t appreciate them fully.
In an interview with Esquire, Finn Wolfhard shared that he’s signed on for another IT project after it was confirmed he’ll be in IT: Welcome to Derry. He said the creators, Barbara and Andy Muschietti, told him exactly what role he’d have. He also suggested that there’s more to come from the IT universe beyond that.
Released a year into Donald Trump’s second, non-continuous term, this documentary feels somewhat behind the times. While some of the footage is insightful – especially the focus on Thad Cisneros, a former leader of the Proud Boys in Salt Lake City – much of it doesn’t offer new perspectives on a topic that’s already been widely discussed. The documentary starts strong, but the close-up look at its subjects becomes repetitive, and it’s unclear what we gain from learning about the personal lives of members of a well-known hate group.
