The action thriller The Assassin—which surprisingly has elements of Mamma Mia—first appeared on Prime Video last July. Since then, it’s become a hit in the United States, staying in the streaming platform’s top 10 for nearly two months. Created by the writers of the popular dramas The Missing and The Tourist, Harry and Jack Williams, The Assassin stars as Julie, a former professional killer trying to rebuild a relationship with her son, Edward, played by , after leaving a life of violence.

Both Run Away and His & Hers are thriller movies adapted from popular books, but they don’t have much else in common. Run Away takes place in the UK and centers on a father searching for his lost daughter. His & Hers, on the other hand, is set in Atlanta, Georgia, and follows a reporter who comes home to solve a series of murders.

As reported by Deadline, The Rookie is changing nights! Starting January 26th, it will move from Tuesdays at 10 p.m. to Mondays at 10 p.m. This change is happening to make room for a new drama called RJ Decker, starring Scott Speedman, which will premiere on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on March 3rd.

That’s Ryan Hurst, pictured on the left, who will be playing Kratos in the upcoming God of War series. According to a statement from Prime Video, Kratos is a Spartan warrior who became a god. He was trained for battle from a young age and led armies for his homeland. However, he made a deal with the Greek god Ares, trading his soul for victory in combat.

Edgar Wright’s 2025 adaptation of Stephen King’s The Running Man, starring Glen Powell, faced disappointing box office results despite initial excitement. While reviews were generally positive – 63% on Rotten Tomatoes and 56 on Metacritic – it wasn’t enough to attract large audiences. The film, which cost around $110 million to make, only earned $68 million worldwide, especially with competition from other new releases like Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and the continued popularity of Predator: Badlands.

Director Josh Safdie recently appeared on the A24 Podcast with his fellow filmmaker Sean Baker (known for Anora) to talk about Marty Supreme. The conversation turned to the film’s surprising ending, sparked by a discussion about casting Kevin O’Leary—better known as Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank—in a role as a successful businessman. The character is quite different from O’Leary’s persona on the reality TV show.
